The bagels are mostly ok and the sandwiches above average. The Southern Boy with mutligrain (add cheese) is a good combo. One quible I have with the place, and this usually only happens with the owner is ringing me up, is that I will be verbally quoted 1 total and then he will wind up charging me an additional 20 cents or so. This is a small amount but the trust is broken. This has a occured several times ove the past couple of months and I do not think this is the way one should run a business. - I'll be sourcing my morning bagel sandwich across town from now on.

Small and tired bagel place but they've always had excellent bagels and excellent cream cheese. Fast service. Staff look exhausted always...but I'm in for the food! I grew up in a primarily Jewish town and grew up with REALLY GOOD bagels. These are good!

Visited this shop while I was down here in Annapolis and ended up liking it a lot, at first I thought it was just a typical bagel shop, I was hungry so I went in, well they are not ... When I walked in I was greeted with smiles from the employees and they gave me some recommendations as in what to get, so what the heck, I said I will go with one of their recommendations, let me just tell you it was delicious... And yes everything is made fresh... If your in the area and you want something quick and good to eat, this place would be the place to get it... Can't wait to come back and try something different

Great food. Nostalgic. Only complaint: They need to take the locks off their bathrooms. You have to ask for the key, which someone behind the counter gives you (touches), then you take it in the bathroom with you. I don't want anyone touching my food, handing me that key. Just do away with the key all together!

Service is ok it depends on who is working whether it's friendly or not. But the prices are cheap and it's fast and the bagels are ALWAYS top notch! Maybe they could fire the friendly people and change the name to Our Bagels are just Better than Yours! And be kinda smarmy to the customers? Lol If you are in Annapolis or driving by on 50 on the way to the beach stop and pick up a dozen!

I don't know why it's taken me so long to try this place! I was craving a really good bagel and thought I'd go ahead and try this place. I had no idea before reading Yelp that it was so good. I ordered an onion bagel with cream cheesea and coffee and my husband got the Northerner on a Jalapeno bagel. We were both impressed with how fast the service was and the enormous selection of bagels! We got our food really fast and were able to snag a seat in the small cafe. Our bagels were so fresh, crispy on the outside and extremely soft, warm, and chewy on the inside. I was absolutely delighted. Next time I will try one of their sandwiches. Annapolis is really lucky to have such a great bagel eatery in our city.

The bagels and bialys are terrific--certainly better than anything I can get in my hometown of Pittsburgh, at least since Bageland in Squirrel Hill closed a few years ago. The breakfasts (eggs and such) and sandwiches are fine too. The most notable element of the restaurant for me, though, is the collection of signs that cover the walls. This is one place where the customer is decidedly *not* always right. Imagine if the Soup Nazi from Seinfeld's attitude toward customers were to be captured in writing. That's what you see on the walls at Bagels And. I stop there whenever I am in Annapolis, as I was this morning. I ordered a six-grain with cream cheese and wanted to get a half dozen to take home. There is a sign on the wall menu saying that bialys are .25 extra, and I recalled how much I like bialys, so I said, "Oh, and a half dozen bialys too." The woman who waited on me said, sternly: "Now, you're aware that the bialys are .25 extra, right?" I guess she just wanted to be sure there were no misunderstandings; wanted to get that out of the way before the transaction was entered into the cash register. Or something... Signs on the walls concern: cell phone usage (not allowed at all in the establishment--that's right, you have to refrain from cell phone usage not just when you are ordering, but at all times); the eating of food in the seating area that was not purchased on the premises (not allowed); the heat of the coffee and tea, with the implication that if you spill it on yourself, that is your problem, not theirs; use of the bathroom (customers only, ask for key, no exceptions), and seating in the seating area (not allowed 15 minutes before closing; from that time henceforth, take-out orders only). This is a place whose signature product is so good, and so much better than the competition, that it provides its owners license to completely ignore all traditional conventions of customer service. If you want to eat these bagels and bialys, you play by their rules. Period. I'll be back.

I just bought a bagel with flavored cream cheese to go. Including tax, it came to $3.05 which rocked me a little. You can get a bagel and a large coffee at most places for that much. Anyhow, it ended up being one of the worst bagels I've ever had. It truly tastes as if it was made yesterday and has been sitting in the basket all day - - this is at 7am. I'll never return to this place!

If you're looking for a tasty bagel and cup of coffee then skip this place. One of the most unfriendly places I've eaten in Annapolis. Worse yet was the tasteless bagel (Jalepeno) and burnt coffee served in styrofoam cups no less. Styrofoam? Come On! Cross this one off your list to try.

I always get the jalapeno bagel with egg and cheese... always in the morning on the way to work. I find the staff to be friendly but professional, taking orders and serving in an efficient manner. The texture of the bagels is superb! Crispy outside and chewy center... not like the bready stuff from the grocery store. I also enjoy the jalapeno bagel with veggie cream cheese... the veggie cream cheese is full of chunks of onion, pepper, etc, not the pureed stuff at the store. The assortment is always popular when I bring in bagels to work... they always disappear quickly! Great little hole-in-the-wall!

Bottom Line: Although located in a small, non-descript shopping center and having a bland and dated interior, Bagels And . . . serves some very delicious bagels and bagel sandwiches. After my Saturday morning workout and admits my Annapolis errands I found myself hungry for some substance. I had drive by Bagels And . . . a zillion times and decided it was finally to give it a try. If you too are craving boiled bread goodness, here is some info about this bagel shop: - Bagels And . . . offers an assortment of fresh and delicious bagels. A bagel with some butter or cream cheese wasn't going to cut it for me so I ordered the McNosh off of the "Anytime Specials" menu. That egg, chopped ham and cheese was just the protein I needed to power through my Saturday errands and housework. In addition to their Anytime menu, they also have a Bagelwich menu which has more lunchy items on it. - Bagels And . . . has been in business since 1962 and definitely has that "nostalgic" feel to it - kinda dated and bland like others have noted. (But don't worry, their food is still fresh and flavorful.) - The staff is very pleasant which I appreciate knowing that they get up hours before dawn to serve their customers. - The interior is small and when I was there, every table was taken. A busy restaurant is always a good sign. - I had to wait about 10 minutes which kind of seemed like a long time but it also gave me the opportunity to do some people watching. I noticed many people coming in and eagerly ordering large coffees and bagels. Also, some people were picking up large orders. The significant amount of foot traffic certainly gives me added confidence in this business. Overall, I had a good experience at Bagels And . . . and I can see where this could become a weekly post-gym tradition.

Been coming here for a couple years now. Usually it's for Saturday morning family breakfast. Very small dining area but we have never had issues with getting a table even with bringing our infant daughter. My wife and I really enjoy our Bagels with cream cheese and Nova locks. It usually takes no more than 5-10 minutes to get your order and believe me thats not bad considering how crowded it can get. They are located in the old strip shopping center in Parole off of West Street. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a quick bite to eat.

Maybe it's because I'm not a huge bagel person, but this place is just 'ok'. My boyfriend, however, absolutely adores is here and thinks it's the cream-of-the-crop of bagel joints. That said, he grew up in the area and I'm sure it's a source of nostalgia for him. The interior I don't typically care for; it's small, bland, and the furniture looks and feels cheap. It's in a strip mall, though, so I can't ask for too much. The food is...bagels. Heheh! No really, each time I've gone, I've just gotten your run-of-the-mill plain bagel with cream cheese. They're good, but it's not some magical experience. The staff, however, is very nice. If you like bagels, I'm sure this place is fantastic. To me, it's alright.

It pains me to do this!!! I've been coming to this store since I was a midshipman back in 1996. I now live in Los Angeles and I make two immediate stops; Faidley's and Bagels And... (If they're open). When I come into town with guests, I take them here, Ana they also live it. The bagels are great and so are the sandwiches, though I'd have loved to see them bring back the liver pate... I even digged the Maryland sass from the servers. It was always a compliment between sweet and get the hell outta here. However, I'm back filming a movie in town, and the past few times I've been in the store, to say the service has been horrible would be a gross understatement. I've had to send back bagels more than once in the simplest of orders. Maybe it's because the kids working the front were texting the entire time, or they just didn't give a shit, I don't know. What ever it was it's happened over and over again. Why do I keep coming back? Valid question. I'm a creature of habit and like I said, I've been coming here for 20 years. Today it ends, as do the recommendations and what could have been years more of business. Out to run a few errands and I called in for a whitefish salad bagel. That was it. The gal on her phone says she can't take an order for one bagel on the phone - mind you she just did. I told her I didn't understand that, and she sort of laughed it off and said its a silly rule but next time just be mindful. Copy all, I told her I'm in a rush and didn't want to have to wait and just grab and go. Not a problem, or so I thought. When I arrived I asked for the pick up order, no gal in sight, only two affected guys who hand me a massive bag of bagels. Not my order. I had the whitefish. Oh... that was the one so and so was talking about. They look at each other and laugh. So it's not ready? But she took the order. Yeah but we're not allowed to take them over the phone. Again I don't get it, but I'm more confused why she took the order, knew I was coming in in minutes and made it seem as if it were taken, only for me to arrive and no bagel. I say this to these to kids and they only stare back at me blinking like I'm speaking Pig Latin, or Yiddish, which they should know given they work in a bagel store, but I digress. Then to break the silence one kid pipes up, so... can I take your order? The only response I could muster out of my disbelief "You already did." Blank stares. I'm sure there's some reason for the not taking one sandwich orders over he phone rule that I'm not smart enough to understand. Common sense would dictate not taking big orders over the phone since you'd want to make sure they will actually come in, or you can ring them up before you waste 12 bagels, but what they hell do I know? I don't know what you guys have to do to change he service at this place but do it and do it fast. If not, Navel Bagels my crew and I!

Tough act to follow coming from Silver Spring recently where good, New York style bagels are plentiful, Bagel And... is a decent place to go. Small and busy. The employees behind the counter are definitely not loving what they are doing and twice we've had our orders messed up and when we bring them up to get them fixed there is some attitude and discord in the back about whose fault it is. In the end it's convenient, a decent bagel, good choices of toppings and we'll be back. The price for my bagel with lox combo is a bit higher than I am used to paying but the ingredients are quality and plentiful. From the outside it's in a non descript strip mall and it's small and well loved/lived in but it has a few tables, decent coffee and a good product.

Love the bagels. Great assortment, taste, sandwiches, all good. I've been there numerous times, but will not return after I was rushed out by the owner while enjoying breakfast with my lady. As soon as we finished, he pretty much asked us to leave in a very passive aggressive, yet obvious manner. Reminded us that it was Sunday at the bagel shop and people were waiting. I had barely finished chewing! He pressured two elderly ladies waiting for their granddaughter to buy something or give up the table. I understand the concept of a short order place and keeping the flow going, but seriously? The food is good enough that a lack of seating won't deter people from stopping in. Bagels are a pretty versatile meal that doesn't commit you to being confined to one spot. If you're in a rush and you get your bagel to go, then it's solid. But I wouldn't spend anymore time there than necessary.

Good bagels.....when they get your order right. Past few times I've been here I've ordered a New Yorker on a everything bagel and it always comes back with just cream cheese...get your crap together.

First good bagel (and real bagel) in ages. And real lox, not smoked salmon pretending to be lox. Nice people working there, too. I'm very happy.

My mom and I ate here on Saturday before Third Eye Comics opened for Free Comic Book Day. I assume this place was packed more than usual because of the hundred or so comic fans lined up a few stores down. While I realize some locals weren't happy that a ton of nerds were crowding their bagel shop, no one was rude and frankly that's great for any business. I ordered an everything bagel with cream cheese, mom got a pumpernickel and rye bagel. With our drinks the total was $9. That's comparable to other bagel shops I visit in Baltimore, so I'm not complaining. The older gentleman (who I assume is the owner) who helped up was prompt and friendly. The food came out fast. Our bagels were nothing to sneeze at! My bagel and cream cheese hit the spot. In fact I couldn't finish it. However it was seriously delicious. Mom finished her whole bagel and enjoyed hers as well. If you're in the area I highly suggest eating here.

Not bad for a place to grab a quick bite while waiting for nearby stores to open. It reminded me of a somewhat nicer industrial eatery. They had a large line and kept it moving, with the only wait for the food itself. Even then, they were pretty quick (a few minutes) getting it to each person and were good at remembering who had what. The food itself was pretty decent. Bagels were a bit crisp on the outside, but nice and chewy on the inside. The meat and cheese on ours was tasty and I enjoyed mine. Customer service wasn't bad; they were just more interested in keeping the line going than being overly nice, which isn't a problem with me. So, I rate this place as A-OK for now. Food was decent, customer service was acceptable, and the environment wasn't too bad. Will probably check them out again in the future.

The staff is nice here, but they are pretty slow making your bagel/bagels. The bagel sand witches are very good. I had a bacon, egg, and cheese for breakfast. It was delicious. Also, I had a ham bagel sand witch for lunch. This was very good. They have barely any seating though, so if you want to go to a sit-in place I wouldn't recommend here. But if you want a place where you can grab your bagel and go this is the place for you.

This place is a little hole-in-the-wall located in a down-in-the-mouth strip center near the intersection of RT 2 and West St. Prime location. It has a decent assortment of bagels and they do lots of sandwiches and other bagel-y things. In fact, long ago, I came in here for a sandwich and it was pretty tasty. In more recent times, I've just come in for bagels to go. I guess the trick to getting good, fresh bagels is to come in early, early in the morning. By the time I got there at 10:00am the bagels were already getting hard. Or maybe, they're made that way. They don't really have as many different bagels as I would like to see in a bagel shop but it is what it is.

Best bagels around...just as I remember from 25 years ago when I worked here. They legitimately boil their bagels prior to baking them. I'm not familiar with the "new" owner, however it appears he's sticking with the original recipe and methods of the original owners that operated this shop in the 80's & 90's.

I'm from Maryland, but have lived in New York for many years. I was SO pleased that my boyfriend brought me here. They have excellent bagels! I don't say that lightly as I've been spoiled by Brooklyn. My personal favorite is - wait for it - The New Yorker. LOX: try it, kids. Delicious on an Everything bagel, toasted with scallion (plain, or any savory other) cream cheese. Lovely folks working there, too. Kinda busy (in Maryland terms) on the weekend mornings/afternoons, but worth it if you live in the area. Not sure I've ever had a good bagel in Maryland until I found this place. Enjoy.

I have lived and dined in Annapolis for more than 20 years and I have never been treated as rudely by a restaurant owner as I was yesterday at Bagels and. My boyfriend and I dined in for a late breakfast (we shared a breakfast sandwich and a bagel toasted with butter - both very average) and we had barely poured the last drop of orange juice down our throats when the owner of Bagels and came up to our table and very loudly told us that he "needed" our table. It's "Sunday at the bagel shop" he said so "I'll need your seats now"...everyone in the restaurant turned to look at us and you could see that they felt bad for us by the looks on their faces. Did I miss something? When did it become OK to kick paying customers out of your restaurant because you simply don't have the space? We were in the restaurant for a total of perhaps 15 minutes and I can promise you those will be the last 15 minutes I ever spend at this establishment. Recommendation? Go anywhere else for your morning bagel. This food isn't worth the attack that comes along with it.

The bagels are decent - better than the fluffy monstrocites found in the local grocery stores. I probably would still get some bagels to go on occassion but i found some unbelievably good frozen bagels from the Bronx at Wholefoods Annapolis. (Look in the bread section in frozen foods.) I get better bagels there and don't get the side of snippy attitude that usually comes with an order at Bagels and .....i guess I know now what the "and" refers to.

I guess it's a love or hate relationship with this place. Friends were coming in town and I wanted bagels for breakfast for them. Not really a fan of Navy Bagel though convinent, so I stopped in and got a dozen at Bagles And. It was a take out purchase so I really can't attest to the serice, but I ate the jalapeno bagel on the ride home and it was best I have had in town. Chewey toothsome woderfulness.

My mind is blown that this place only has a 3 star average right now! These are by far the best bagels i've ever had anywhere in and around Maryland. Super fresh, very reasonably priced, and great varieties that are hard to find elsewhere (marbled/seeded rye, spinach, black forest). Anytime i'm in Annapolis i HAVE to stop here to grab a few. They have awesome sandwiches and will do almost anything custom you can think of. My favorite order is the New Yorker (bagel, cream cheese, smoked salmon, sprouts, tomatoes, topped with a single olive) add capers. It's an amazing deal at less than $8. Everyone here has always been really friendly to me. I think the bad service people have gotten here must have been in response to a bad attitude that they gave the staff to begin with. Don't forget, "You can catch more flies with honey than vinegar"!

The bagels in this place are very good, but there is no excuse for providing the incorrect order. They have been very good in the past, but this morning, after leaving the parking lot (the bagels are wrapped so unless you open them in the store it's a pain to return) we discovered the messed up one of the orders.

Bagels are great. Jalapeno southerner an anything with pineapple cream cheese is worth visiting. unfortunately the service is extremely poor. I have found the staff to be rude on several visits to this place. In a such a small shop more then just a few customers turns the place into a zoo.

It's in a strip mall next to two auto stores. And they are actually entitled Bagels and ... Breakfast, Lunch and catering. It's a cute little shop, we were dropping the car off at VW in the early am and decided for a bagel for bfast. You walk in and it's cute in decor, frescos on the walls of bagels living their annapolis life style. The walk in drives you straight to the counter where we found all kinds of bagels and they had some limited cookies and pastries. I had a Whole Wheat Honey with Veggie Cream cheese toasted, and Neil had a Egg with onion and poppy seeds and veggie cream cheese. The bagels were great, light, airy, I hit a couple spots on mine that may have been viewed as doughy but might have been that whole wheat I asked for. But super tastey... so was neil's. They serve CITYDOCK coffee there, so no complaints and they had a variety of juices for all kinds. There is a sit down area so you don't have to run out if you don't want to, sit, enjoy your bagel while checking out the cute fresco's on the walls. Enjoy! cc

Why you gotta hate on this place people?? Yeah, the staff is cranky. Yeah, they serve coffee in Styrofoam. And no this does not amount to a New York bagel shop. But they are consistently the best bagel shop in Annapolis. Beats the hell out of Naval Bagels any day. Maybe some of you had a bad experience? My suggestion? Try the Owner's Delight. Tell them to add lettuce and tomato under the cheese. Delicious!!
